AUTOMATION ENGINEER

Roles & Responsibilities
• Develop User Requirements Specifications for new assembly and testing equipment for medical devices
• Lead and actively participate in design reviews for new equipment to ensure robust designs to meet end requirements
• Lead and actively participate in equipment acceptance trials at vendor and on site and ensure all requirements are met.
• Develop project status reports and issue on a routine basis to management
• Validation of new processes and development of technical documentation
• Seek and Implement improvement opportunities for safety, quality and efficiency.
• Identification of areas of opportunity for new technology
• Preparation of capital expenditure requests
• Electro-Mechanical troubleshooting of equipment components and systems such as vision systems, PLCs, sensors, cylinders, actuators, robots.
• Creation and update of electro-mechanical drawings
• Create calibration procedures and ensure compliance with calibration requirements.
• Management of relevant budgets within target.
• Implementation of all relevant policies relating to Personnel, Quality, Engineering & Safety.
• Negotiate cost / quality effective external contracts.
• Prepare appropriate CAPA plans and implement timeline
Requirements & Qualifications
• Education: Degree in Engineering Discipline
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience working with high volume automated equipment
• Experience of working in Medical Device or Pharma industry
• High degree of technical competence with mechanical and electrical automation systems.
• Proficiency in the use of a CAD package, preferably Solidworks
• Experience with equipment validations
• This position requires travel – 25% estimated.
